Montessori Early Years Consulting Privacy Policy

     Montessori Early Years Consulting ("MEY") is a small organization that provides consulting services and materials to parents, organizations, and others interested in education of young children.

     In the course of providing these services, MEY will collect and use personal information for the following purposes:

     1)  In order to provide the service: information concerning clients or potential clients.  In this regard the following types of personal information might, but will not necessarily, be collected and used: contact information (e.g., names, addresses, phone and fax numbers, email addresses, any other contact information, etc.), family related information including information about children, basic economic/budgetary information relevant to the customer or potential customer, other information that may be helpful in providing appropriate services for clients and their children.

     2)  In order to contact potential clients, MEY will collect and use contact information that is either:  a)  publicly available, or b)   that is disclosed to MEY by other parties or from other sources.  MEY will determine whether this information is publicly available or has been provided with the consent of the individual(s) who is(/are) to be contacted.  For instance, in cases where a potential client is personally referred to MEY by a current client or other party, MEY will determine from the referring source whether this is publicly available information or whether it is being passed onto MEY with the potential clients consent.

     MEY will not disclose any personal information to anyone unless MEY has the consent of the individual(s) whose information will be disclosed.  In this regard, MEY may ask customers or potential customers whether or not they would consent to MEY disclosing certain personal information.  For example, a scenario where this might occur is if MEY would like to consider using an individual as a reference.  Another example is where MEY might use personal information of a customer as part of MEYs promotional material.

     Susan is also the individual to contact if someone would like to access to their personal information held by MEY or if they want to change or update their personal information.  Likewise, if there is a complaint about MEY's privacy policy or practices, Susan would be happy to hear from you in order to try and resolve the issue.  If the issue cannot be resolved, MEY considers itself subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and therefore would agree to work with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if anyone felt it necessary to complain to the Commissioner about MEY's privacy policy or practices.

     MEY would like to emphasize that it will not supply any personal information collected to any other parties, and that any information used in contacting current or potential customers will only be used in good faith.
